Celebrating Achievements – Past and Future

Le Flambeau Foundation , Inc., December 28, 2018

The year 2018 came and went in the blink of an eye and we now find ourselves facing the end, and the beginning – 2019. Natural disasters, political shifts, and economic restructuring; each played a role in this year’s story. Educational advancement, a board meeting in Haiti that gave birth to new projects in Haiti, the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights celebrations in Miami and in Haiti, and new THE SPARK of Le Flambeau graduates; shed extra positive light on shared priorities.

January 1st, in addition to being New Year’s Day, is Independence Day for Haiti (January 1, 1804).  To read the Declaration of Independence (click here).  Education is one of the strongest indicators of true independence; it is the foundation from which economies and communities grow, and sustain.  Education is the ultimate freedom and a catalyst for a new year of achievements, of historic proportions.

As we end this year and head into 2019, we gift you with servings of our traditional New Year’s Independence Day Soup Joumou. We invite you to include Le Flambeau Foundation in your year-end tax-deductible donations. Together, we applaud the extraordinary achievements of the past and look forward to the successes in our interconnected future.  Happy New Year. Happy Independence Day.  The future is bright!

Warmest Wishes,

Le Flambeau Foundation , Inc.
